ABORTION LOGIC

A widely promoted idea today is: “Government has no right to interfere with a woman’s private, moral choice.” Sounds like a “politically correct” viewpoint?

If we tend to accept this belief, however, why wouldn’t these statements also be true? “Government has no right to interfere with a man’s private, moral choice to beat his wife or abuse his children?” Or better yet, “Government has no right to interfere with a mother’s private, moral choice to kill her new born baby or abandon it to die.”

Justice Harry Blackmun ignored 1800 years of Christian history, upon which our nation was based, and appealed to Persia, Greece and Rome to support Roe v. Wade. These pagan civiliza-tions also left their unwanted children out in the woods to be devoured by wolves. Some even sacrificed their children to their gods hoping to ensure their own well-being. What’s next?

Hitler justified the killing of 6 million Jews by calling them sub-human. History calls it “the holocaust.” We have killed over 30 million unborn babies in this nation by denying them humanity and labeling them fetuses or non-persons? Where or what is the difference?

Why should the “fundamental right” of a woman to “liberty” and “the pursuit of happiness” by choosing to end a pregnancy with an abortion, be considered more sacred and valid than the unborn child’s “right to life?” Is not this “right to life” the first “fundamental right” listed, which is “endowed by the Creator” and guaranteed to all human beings in our nation’s charter, The Declaration of Independence? Does the unborn human child have no “human rights?” The civility of a society is best judged by how it treats its weakest members!

And finally can any “right” really be considered “fundamental” which would theoretically place in the hands of all women world-wide the power to destroy the human race in one generation? What insanity! We need a transformation, an opening of our eyes and a renewal of our minds.

Is not government not only supposed to support constructive or moral choices and actions but also to deny destructive or immoral choices and actions in human society? We need to do some consistent, logical rethinking of this whole selfish business. We need to resist and reject the euphemisms “reproductive liberty” or “reproductive rights” and call abortion by its original definition; namely, what it actually is: “the killing of an unborn child.”

Abe Lincoln wisely noted during the Civil War, “You cannot have the right to do what is wrong!” The supporters of this abominable practice are merchants of death who call evil, good and good, evil. They call wrong a right and vice a virtue. Their new definition of liberty--called a “liberty interest”--and fundamental rights is in reality a libertine license, which, disguised as freedom, follows a pathway away from true liberty into bondage.

Radical supporters of this abortion “wrong” are the new barbarians--uncivilized, intolerant and woefully lacking in compassion. Those who are pushing this new, radical social agenda are proving themselves to be the most intolerant people in America today. They wish to control the entrance to the market place of ideas and squash all opposing viewpoints. They are the neo-pagan “Romans” who would throw Christians and their time-honored values to the lions in the Coliseum. The Founding Fathers would have declared all of them subversive, seditious and guilty of treason, betrayers of the American tradition and heritage.
