September 11th

Now and then we're reminded how short life is. The week after the terrorist attacks on September ll, my sister called to tell me our brother, Arne, died of a heart attack. It struck me how important it is to be showing our love for one another all the time. We never know when God is going to take any of us Home.

We need to keep very short accounts with people, especially family members. At least we know that Arne is now with Mom and Dad, our older brother, and other loved ones who have gone on before. We love him, will miss him tremendously, and our hearts and prayers are with our sister-in-law, Donna and their sons.

I wonder how many people who lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks had settled accounts with their family and friends. I hope they do not have regrets to live with.

Psalm 23, as well known as it is, has been very precious to me and our family since Arne has been gone. It is wonderful that we have a President who freely quoted that Psalm for our nation when our country needed comfort. We don't need to fear evil because God IS with us if we ask Him !
